ABOUT THE CLASS: In this predominantly hands-on class, you'll practice effective testing procedures and identification skills on over 60 species of gemstones. You'll benefit from the expert coaching of your instructor and enjoy full use of a variety of gem materials and gem-testing instruments provided by GIA. By the end of the class, you'll be able to challenge your gem identification skills against pre-identified stones. For a comprehensive understanding of identification techniques, GIA advises those attending this class to enroll in the Distance Education Coloured Stones Course and the Distance Education Gem Identification Course.

• Fees are not refundable after commencement of the course.
• This course is also the practical component (GIA Extension class) for students enrolled for GIA Graduate Gemologist Diploma (GG).
