WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: You'll learn to describe colour in terms of hue, tone, and saturation using GIA's Coloured Stone Grading System. Learn how to grade the colour, clarity, and cut quality factors of the coloured stones you buy and sell. Arm yourself with the skill and insight you need to avoid paying too much for gemstones - and protect yourself from selling them for too little.

ABOUT THE CLASS: increase the consistency and accuracy of your coloured stone grading skills through extensive hands-on practice using actual gemstones provided by GIA. You'll learn consistent terms for all transparent faceted coloured stone value factors. Develop your skill and confidence using state-of-the-art gem microscopes and GIA GemSet.

• Applications must be made well in advance because of the limited number of students that can be accommodated at any specific intake.
• Admission is solely at the school's discretion.
• A deposit of 50% is required to secure a place on the course. Do not send any deposit until a place is offered to you.
• The balance of the fees must be paid before commencement of the course.
• Fees are not refundable after commencement of the course.
• This course is also the practical component (GIA Extension class) for students enrolled for GIA Graduate Gemologist Diploma (GG).
