The Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Training School is located in the South African Diamond Centre building in downtown Johannesburg.
The SA Diamond Centre is the hub of the South African Diamond Industry and is the home of major industry organisations such as the South African Diamond Board, the Diamond Bourse of South Africa, the Diamond Merchants' Association of Southern Africa, the Rough Diamond Dealers' Association of South Africa, The Diamond Development Company and many others.
In addition, the Centre houses more than 100 diamond dealing companies, polishing factories, manufacturing jewellers, shipping companies and diamond equipment supply companies.

The chairman of The Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Training School is Mr. Raisaka Masebelanga.

Mr. Masebelanga is an international lawyer of many years standing who has, over the past several years, turned into a diamantaire. He brings to the South African diamond industry not only dedication and commitment, but also an eclectic background of law, sport, merchant banking and politics.

He has travelled extensively to the Diamond Centres of the world inter alia India, Thailand, Israel etc. His hobbies are sport, reading and debating.

All students on the Rough Diamond Course are provided with a comprehensive and wide variety of rough diamonds to grade and study. The diamonds which are supplied to students of the school for grading purposes, are sponsored by The Diamond Development Company (DIAMDEL) which is a subsidiary of De Beers.
